The Queen’s Speech

Various venues since 2015

Someone sits on  throne with a microphone.  They are the Queen.  The audience writes down what they want the Queen to say.  She will read out anything.

The Queen’s Speech is an interactive exercise in monarchy, democracy and free speech.  It asks who has a voice in our society and privileges the individual over the icon.

The audience begins a dialogue with itself that is alive, provocative and unpredictable.  The Queen is uncensored and will read out anything, from the personal to the political, silly or obscene.

Performed since 2015 at More Storm Festival, Kingston Social Club’s FLESH, Live Bistro’s KETCHUP and Sprint Festival at Camden People’s Theatre.  Photograph by Josh Moore.
